This blog's focus was the Indianapolis area. Every state must follow IDEA, however, some states have other laws guiding special education. Remember that when the law is being discussed here, it may refer to Indiana's Article 7 or Missouri's State Plan.

Parents must become advocates for their children. Families can't assume education will follow enrollment in a local school. They will have to ensure it with constant involvement in the process.
